QUEENSRŸCHE Backing Vocalist PAMELA MOORE Hospitalized; Band Plays 'Edited' Show
August 31, 2006A BLABBERMOUTH.NET visitor by the name of Kit Ekman has submitted the following report:
"I just returned home from the QUEENSRŸCHE show at the Saenger Theater in beautiful Mobile, Alabama this evening [August 30]. A few minutes before the show began, Geoff Tate [QUEENSRŸCHE vocalist] came out from behind the curtain to tell us he had some 'bad news,' specifically that Pamela Moore [the voice of 'Sister Mary' from QUEENSRŸCHE's legendary concept album 'Operation: Mindcrime' and its sequel, 'Operation: Mindcrime II'] was 'very ill' and that she had been 'hospitalized' earlier today. He did not disclose any more information about her condition, but indicated that this evening's performance would be 'edited' considerably as a result of her absence. Sure enough, the band cut 'Suite Sister Mary' out of 'Mindcrime' and five songs from 'Mindcrime II' ('Speed of Light', 'Re-Arrange You', 'If I Could Change It All', 'An Intentional Confrontation', and 'All the Promises'). There were a number of technical glitches, missed cues and problems synching up the video to the performances as a result of all these edits, and I think 'Re-Arrange You' was deleted by mistake because Pamela Moore doesn't even sing on that track. For encores, the band treated us to 'Walk in the Shadows', 'Take Hold of the Flame', 'Empire', and 'Jet City Woman', which I suspect is their standard encore, so no extra songs there to make up for the mess.
"Anyone planning to attend QUEENSRŸCHE gigs in the next few days should be prepared for possible disappointment if Pamela Moore does not recover quickly, as tonight's performance was awfully jumbled and frustrating."
QUEENSRŸCHE's next performance is scheduled for Thursday night (August 31) at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida.
